Grief/Loss Therapy

Have you lost someone you loved or ended a romantic relationship? Are you flooded with deep feelings of sadness and sorrow, and often by a powerful yearning or longing to be with that person again? Do you feel numb and empty, as if there is no meaning to anything, or feel annoyed at yourself for how you are feeling compared to how you ‘should’ be dealing with things? Do you feel angry that your loved one has gone and left you behind? Are you worried that you will never feel better or that you will not be able to cope?

Grief is not only emotional but physical as well. You might be struggling to eat or sleep or might feel sick in your stomach. These feelings may come in waves and may change from one to another. Powerful feelings of grief and loss are normal and natural.

Coming to terms with feelings of loss and making sense of it can be painful. Grief occurs across all ages, but adults, adolescents, and children may process it differently. Feelings can range from deep sadness to bursts of anger. Everyone grieves differently, and there is no "right way" to grief. If the loss is too overwhelming to perform your day-to-day tasks, it can take a significant toll on your mental health. Despite the pain, the process of grieving is an important part of how we come to terms with loss, and if you need help coming to terms with the loss, I can help.
